enjoyed a fascinating two days

Within the Indian context the conference discussed four key issues that characterise the Indian experience.

  • The Skills Gap
  • The large of numbers to be assessed
  • The range of technologies that are appropriate
  • The challenge of sharing experience and determining best practice.

This first Indian Assessment Tomorrow conference paidparticular attention to the development and provision of qualifications and certification for Information Technology and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) from general usage qualifications through to professional certification. This focus on these qualifications in the classroom and the work place will demonstrate the use and value of e-Assessment.

Only 30% of IT graduates meet the demands and expectations of India’s IT industry.

Less than 20% of other graduates are suitable for BPO and ITES.

How will India bridge this Skills Gap?

How will India cope with the increasing numbers and the demands of industry, customers and the economy?

How will India recognize and develop the right talent?

How will India derive the maximum benefit from the new technologies of skills assessment and development?

This international conference brought together experts and experienced practitioners from India and the UK. They shared knowledge, best practice and experience of how to leverage the new tools and techniques of e-Assessment to cost effectively and efficiently identify, evaluate and develop talent and potential.

The reasons for attending were

    • To understand e-Assessment developments and issues and the solutions available
    • To consider the benefits of e-Assessment and its related technologies to measurement of IT Skills, Knowledge and Understanding
    • To see how e-Assessment supports and enhances e-learning and the building of learning
    • To support the development of IT to deliver learning and assessment
    • To share experience and best practice
    • To initiate future policy and planning
    • To see how the data can be used to benefit employers, education, and the learners.
